Isabel Pascual Olarte


Isabel is the Managing Director of Zarzia Consulting for the last 10 years, leading & implementing projects for large and medium pharma companies, both on strategy, and operations.  She is also a coach and trainer, having served mid-level executives with both crash courses or long term support. Isabel has lived in 12 different countries across the globe during the last 35 years, and has served the pharma industry globally -- from biologicals to small-molecule, from Originator's to Generics, and  from prescription medicines to food supplements.

Prior to founding Zarzia, Isabel was a Senior Principal responsible for Consulting and Services for C&EE, Middle East & Africa Regions for IMS (IQVIA).  She led countless projects on strategic opportunities & tactical issues for big & small pharma groups, in regions and countries where information access or quality is challenging, and where flexibility and creativity are the name of the game.  

Isabel has also worked for Lafarge as Director of Corporate Strategy and Development, heading global M&A projects and planning the corporation’s organic growth.  She has consulted for the Malaysian government as strategic advisor on macro-economic relaunch options, and has worked at ZS Associates as a Consultant, leading many pharma- projects within European and South American countries.  She worked as well for Procter&Gamble at their European HQ, leading the LDL department, and successfully launching five different consumer products in the top-5 European markets. 

Isabel’s academic background includes a PhD cum laude  in physical chemistry by Zaragoza University, an MBA by Oxford University, and an executive leadership MBA by INSEAD.  Isabel has worked as assistant professor and researcher at Bristol Univ. (UK) and Texas A&M Univ. (USA), on X-ray Cristallography, Molecular Modeling and Organometallic Chemistry.  She is the author of more than 35 scientific peer-reviewed scientific publications, a dozen published business papers, and keynote presenter in more than 20 international scientific conferences. 

Isabel speaks fluently English, Spanish & French, and reads German & Italian
